To whom went the prizes?

We had so many great prizes that the jury members had somehow hard time to decide on the way that the prizes were going to be distributed. But decisions were finally taken and they look as follows:

Crimson Capital. Their special prize “6 months of consultancy” went to Grandmothers Employment.

DM Consulting Services. Their special prize “Consultancy Days” went to: Grandmothers Employment (2 days), Sixframes (2 days), Albania Tourism Guide (2 days), ePay (2 days), Artcode Business Bridge (2 days). Their special prize: Training on entrepreneurship went to all of the 12 teams participating in the event.

EasyPay. Their special prize “3 weeks of internship” went to ePay.

Epoka University. Their special prize “Incubation” went to: Albania Tourist Guide (6 months), ePay (6 months), Smart Step Web (6 months).

Konsort. Their special prize “Consultancy Days” went to: Grandmothers Employment (1 week of consultancy), Albania Tourist Guide (1 week of consultancy).

PC World Albanian and CIO.al. Their prizes went as follows:
1. In the next issue of PC World Albanian and CIO.al all of the 12 startups – ideas will be presented.
2. In the second next issue of PC World Albanian and CIO.al the 3 winning startups will be further presented.
3. In the third next issue of PC World Albanian and CIO.al the winning team of the 1st place will be further presented.
4. Online advertisement for 3 months in all platforms related to both magazines went to the winning team Grandmothers Employment.

Pro-TIK. Their special prize “Partial incubation and Consultancy” went to: Easy ISP (3 months of partial incubation and 5 hours of consultancy each week during the 3 months of incubation) and to Smart Step Web ((3 months of partial incubation and 5 hours of consultancy each week during the 3 months of incubation).

USAID Rritje Albania. Their special prize “Technical assistance to evaluate the idea if it can be commercialized” went to the 3 winning teams: Granmothers Employment, Sixframes, Albania Tourist Guide.

1Up. Their special prize “3 months of paid internship for 2 participants with the most innovative idea” went to 2 young ladies from the startup team Fashion Gov Albania: Aneida Bajraktari and Sanja Dibra.

Based on the Startup Weekend judging criteria, the jury members decided as follows regarding the winning teams:

1st place goes to … Grandmothers Employment

2nd place goes to… Sixframes

3rd place goes to… Albania Tourist Guide

That was such a great event …

After a long business weekend, 12 enthusiastic and innovative teams presented their startup ideas in front of the jury members. What were the ideas about?

1. Smart Step Web (a startup aiming at producing a web builder which would be more professional and more user friendly and flexible than alternative platforms existing at international level. Furthermore the startup would complement the opportunity to build websites with many other services and features);

2. Albania Tourist Guide (a startup aiming at producing, maintaining and managing the content of an online and mobile platform for the promotion of Albanian to foreign tourists who visit Albania);

3. Digital Startup (a startup aiming at creating, maintaining and managing content of an online platform which would enable the presentation of innovative ideas from individuals in an environment composed of companies interested to implement them, a kind of everlasting startup weekend);

4. TurboT (a startup aiming at creating and integrating a software about school schedules in educational institutions in the Albanian speaking region);

5. Albania Online Library (a startup aiming at creating and enabling online libraries in educational institutions which would help to bring to Albania books that otherwise wouldn’t reach young people from Albania);

6. Linkademia (a startup aiming at creating and maintaining an online system which would enable the connection among Albanian researchers, individuals and lecturers at different universities including businesses, to promote their research results and to create opportunities to create relations and enable common projects);

7. Artcode (Business Bridge – a startup aiming at creating, maintaining and managing content of an online platform which would provide more information about Albanian businesses, would offer services to them related to business events taking place in Albania, matchmaking among the businesses, the organization of fairs and more);

8. ePay (a startup aiming at creating a secure online platform which will function as an intermediator between customers who need to pay bills, penalties and more, state institutions and banks);

9. Sixframes (a startup aiming at creating and maintaing an online platform which will enable the creation of online video portfolios for artists, art students, businesses, universities and more);

10. FashionGov Albania (a startup aiming at creating, maintaining and managing content of an online fashion platform which will provide the opportunity to customers to design their own clothes, to reach design studios and to get online counselling for fashion matters from a fashion expert);

11. Easy ISP (a startup which aims at creating and maintaining a system which enables direct connections between customers and ISP and simplifies payments based on the offerer – customer contracts);

12. Grandmothers Employment (a startup aiming at creating and running an e-commerce business which will offer Albanian handmade products to customers and will at the same time create jobs for women in Albania while helping the Albanian tradition of handmade products thrive).
